Over the last 25 years, I have interacted with thousands of commerce students. One observation surprises many parents.
Some of the most successful professionals I have seen were not necessarily college toppers.
In fact, many average students have built excellent careers in accounting, taxation and finance.
Why does this happen?
Because employers look for more than marks.
A few years ago, a student joined ITAP after completing B.Com. His academic performance was average. He was worried because many of his classmates had scored better than him.
However, he had one strength. He was willing to learn practical skills.
During the Professional Business Accountant (PBA) Course, he spent time understanding Accounting, GST, Income Tax, TDS, Tally Prime and Excel. He attended every practical session seriously.
Within a short period, he became confident enough to handle real accounting work. Eventually, he secured a good opportunity and started building his career.
On the other hand, I have also met students with excellent marks who struggled because they depended only on theoretical knowledge.
The lesson is simple.
Marks are important, but skills are equally important.
For students searching for the best career options after B.Com, practical exposure can make a huge difference. This is one reason why job oriented courses after B.Com and accounting and taxation courses in Pune are becoming increasingly popular.
At ITAP Pune, the PBA Course focuses on practical learning because businesses want professionals who can contribute from the first day.
Your future is not decided only by your marks.
It is decided by your willingness to learn and grow.
