Why Some Commerce Students Get Jobs Quickly and Others Wait for Years

Parents often tell me:

“Sir, my son has completed graduation. Why is he still struggling to find a job?”

After meeting thousands of students, I have realised that the answer is usually not marks. It is skills.

Recently, two B.Com graduates attended interviews with different companies. Both had similar academic scores.

The first student could explain GST returns, accounting entries, TDS deductions and basic business processes.

The second student had theoretical knowledge but had never worked on practical accounting software.

Guess who received the offer?

The first student.

This situation is becoming common across India. Employers are increasingly looking for candidates who can contribute from the first day.

That is why practical accounting training is becoming more important than ever before.

At ITAP, we designed the Professional Business Accountant (PBA) Course after observing this gap between education and employment. The course combines Accounting, GST, Income Tax, Tally Prime, SAP, Zoho Books and communication skills into one practical learning journey.

Students often ask me whether accounting still has a future.

My answer is simple.

Every business needs accounting. Every business needs GST compliance. Every business needs financial records.

Technology may change the way accountants work, but the need for accounting professionals is unlikely to disappear.

Students who continuously upgrade their skills will continue to find opportunities.
